An appointment can involve unfamiliar questions, limited time and information you need to remember afterwards. Choose a communication app around the part you want help with: expressing yourself, preparing a question or retaining the next steps. You can use written notes, AAC and scripts together rather than expecting one tool to handle everything.
Prepare the questions you want answered
Write your purpose in your own words. Add the facts you want to share and questions you need answered. If speaking may be difficult, decide how you want the professional to receive those points: a printed note, typed message or speech-output device. You can ask about the available communication arrangements before the appointment. A supporter can help prepare while leaving your choices and messages under your control.
A practical example
A short opening could be: “I have written my questions down so I do not miss anything. Can we go through them one at a time?” A closing question might be: “What should I do next, and can you write that down?” If an app suggests more polished wording, remove anything that changes your meaning or describes symptoms you did not report.

Try it in your own setting
Test the device before you leave. Check battery, volume, access to saved material and whether the relevant feature needs a connection. Keep important questions available in another format if useful. After the appointment, record the agreed actions and any question still unanswered. Avoid storing unnecessary identifying details in an AI tool just to make a script sound more specific.
